2. The Warriors should avoid Usman Garuba from Real Madrid

The Warriors’ offense is what keeps them going, as Steph Curry and Klay Thompson (hopefully) will be the go-to options on that end of the floor. However, the role players have to bring some offensive talent to compliment the two legendary shoots. Unfortunately, Usman Garuba‘s offensive limitations should make the Warriors steer clear of him.

He doesn’t take many threes, which is an automatic red flag for Golden State. In fact, the 6-foot-8 forward doesn’t take many shots at all, only averaging 3.1 total attempts per game in 2020-21. His unwillingness to expand his offense would conflict with a creative Warriors offense. He doesn’t bring defense — something Steve Kerr’s team needs, but not the expense of offensive production. Not in today’s NBA.
