NHL investigating Evander Kane on accusation of throwing games
The NHL is investigating a claim that Sharks forward Evander Kane bet on games he was involved in, intentionally trying to lose for profit.
Serious accusations against Sharks forward Evander Kane rocked the hockey world on Saturday with the NHL opening an investigation.
Evander’s wife, Anna, made a series of social media posts claiming her husband is a “compulsive gambling addict” who is “obviously throwing games to win money.”
“Can someone ask Gary Bettman how they let a player gamble on his own games? Bet and win with bookies on his own games?” Anna Kane wrote.
She also posted a photo of the book “Casino Gambling for Dummies” with the caption, “When ur own teammates give you this book I think they are trying to tell you maybe you are not the best at the tables bud.”
Kane has been in trouble with gambling in the past. In 2019, he was sued by a casino in Las Vegas over a $500,000 gambling debt that he allegedly failed to pay.
