Ahead of the 5-1 win over Leeds, Manchester United officially announced the Raphael Varane signing and fans went nuts.

Saturday was just about a perfect day for Manchester United. The Red Devils took on Leeds to open the English Premier League season, recording an unforgettable 5-1 victory. Before the opening whistle, though, Old Trafford was already rocking.

That’s because the long-awaited announcement of defender Raphael Varane arrive right before things got underway. Varane arrived from Real Madrid and is expected to start alongside Harry Maguire once he hits the field. United fans were ecstatic to see him with his jersey.

Old Trafford exploded with excitement as soon as Raphael Varane was announced by Man United

Dressed in a smooth suit, Varane was all smiles hearing the ovation from the United faithful. To make things even better for him, he then watched his teammates put on a total show against Leeds. Bruno Fernandes opened the scoring, and while the visitors evened things up early on in the second half, United dominated the rest of the way.

Mason Greenwood found the back of the net, while Fernandes then scored two more goals before Fred closed the scoring at 5-1. We of course have to mention the incredible showing from Paul Pogba.

The midfielder recorded four assists in this one, which is truly out of this world. Victor Lindelof assisted Fernandes on his third goal, which was an absolute screamer. Other than that, Pogba was the one delivering all the magical passes for the Reds.

With the club hoping to win its first trophy since 2017, getting off to this kind of a start sure is big. Things will get even more exciting once Varane makes his debut. The center back could prove to be the difference in helping Manchester United get over the hump.
