1. DeMarcus Cousins

It just doesn’t make sense.

Like Isaiah Thomas, Demarcus Cousins has struggled with a rash of injuries, but he could be an even higher risk with a team like this year’s Los Angeles Lakers. The majority of this roster comes with a high risk of injury due to age, and it could short-circuit the system if you put yet another cog in the machine that may be a bit used up.

LakeShowLife goes into serious depth about why the Showtime Lakers should avoid Cousins, but this is one of the biggest reasons right here. On top of his struggle with injury, would he be able to perform at a level that is actually beneficial to the team?

It could be a yes, due to the team he has around him, having a high drive and desire to win. But it could also tire him out as well, being a huge downfall to his performance in the long-term.

There’s just a high risk as it relates to signing him — a risk that could result into a low return on investment.
