18. Phil Jurkovec, Boston College

Originally a Notre Dame commitment who spent two years middling on the depth chart for the Fighting Irish, the former 4-star recruit made his way to Boston College last season and, frankly, made the Golden Eagles a live one throughout the ACC season. Despite the program having to deal with more COVID restrictions than many other programs thanks to playing in Massachusetts, Phil Jurkovec made his presence felt.

Though Boston College has often been better known for a run-heavy offense, Jurkovec averaged over 31 passing attempts per game last season and found success with that as he went for 2,558 yards, 17 touchdowns and only five interceptions. He’s not a huge rushing threat but he did add three scores on the ground to his credit as well.

Watching him with the Golden Eagles, it’s clear to see why Jurkovec was a highly rated recruit coming out of high school. His 6-foot-5, 226-pound frame with a cannon arm makes him a legitimate weapon and he clearly has confidence in his natural ability, for good reason too.

That being said, Jurkovec simply needs to be a more consistent passer beyond completing only 61.0 percent of his throws last year. While he was fantastic at creating out of structure last season, he needs to be a more effective player when simply running the offense as designed and sitting between the tackles. He has the talent to do so but must put that foot forward.
