2. WR Malik Taylor

Taylor led the team with 66 receiving yards against the Jets, on a tied for team-best four catches. As Packers Wire noted, all four of his grabs went for first downs on third down as he generally stepped up.

"Taylor made impressive catches over 20 yards to extend scoring drives, including a spinning catch on a back-shoulder throw. He did have a drop, but this was a strong step in the right direction for a young pass-catcher fighting to be the sixth receiver on the roster. Taylor leads the team with nine catches and 116 yards this preseason."

The Packers have a chunk of wide receivers who are locks for roster spots (Davante Adams, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Allen Lazard, Amari Rodgers, Randall Cobb). Devin Funchess failed to dent the stat sheet against the Jets after a nice preseason opener, so if the door was open to win the No. 6 wide receiver spot Taylor stepped through it nicely.

Taylor was already surely well ahead of Reggie Begelton, Equanimeous St. Brown, etc. in the battle for one of the Packers’ final overall roster spots, and he certainly made a big push on Funchess with his showing against the Jets.
