As much as preseason wins or losses matter (they donāt, as evidenced by the Detroit Lions going 4-0 in the preseason the year they went 0-16), the Green Bay Packers fell to 0-2 with a loss to the New York Jets on Saturday. But certain players have been battling for roster spots, and good showings in the preseason opener against the Texans helped a few guys secure a spot on the final 53 when Week 1 is closer.
With Aaron Rodgers sitting out and Jordan Love banged up, the Packers only used two quarterbacks against the Jets. If you look at the box score, only one quarterback really played.

3. DL Jack Heflin
Defensive line depth looks to be a problem for the Packers, and Helfin is stating his case to stick around. Following a four-tackle outing in the preseason opener against Houston, the undrafted rookie out of Iowa had another four stops with a team-high two quarterback hits and pressures against the Jets.
The combination of being stout against the run and providing even a little something as a pass rusher should secure his roster spot before the preseason finale.
