Taysom Hill’s mobility

Taysom Hill has such a unique skill set. He’s as much an all-around player as a quarterback. Without an elite passer like Brees at the helm, it helps to have a different type of “it” factor available.

Hill can extend plays with his legs. He can run for first downs in a pinch. He can keep a defense guessing on designed run plays. He’s also a major threat to reach the end zone, with eight rushing touchdowns last year.

The Saints passing game is a question with question marks hanging over the wide receiver group. The offensive line is solid, but pass protection hasn’t always been their most reliable trait. They need someone who can take off if a play hasn’t developed the way it should. That’s Hill.

It’s just another element on offense for a defense to deal with. It’s also something that’s hard to show off in practice or preseason settings. Hill’s performances before the start of the regular season can’t really show the full extent of what he’s capable of.
