A special edition of new Air Jordans pay tribute to UNC basketball legendary coach Dean Smith.

When you think of North Carolina basketball, two names likely pop to the front of your mind.

Michael Jordan and Dean Smith.

Now, the two iconic figures in UNC basketball history are united with a new shoe that is set to be released on Aug. 26.

The Air Jordans will pay tribute to the legendary Tar Heels head coach with “Dear Dean” stitched on both tongues with “Swing for the Fence” on the right insole. Additionally, “There Was Never Any Doubt” and “It Went Down In The Backyard” can be found on the sole.

In an era when Air Jordans are as popular as ever with several consumers crossing their fingers with the chance of being lucky enough to purchase a pair, UNC basketball fans will surely be hoping to get their hands on these.

The North Carolina colorwary for the Jordan Series .01 model is sure to be a best-seller when it’s released this weekend. Better get your hands on it before it sells out.

Retailing at $80, this pair that honors coach Smith is a bargain for the die-hard Tar Heels basketball fan. You can expect prices on the secondary market to be much, much higher.
