With the Cleveland Browns heading to Kansas City for a Week 1 tilt with the Chiefs, they’ll hope to win their first season-opener in 17 years.

Before making the postseason last year, it really had been a miserable stretch for Cleveland Browns fans, as the team hadn’t danced in the playoffs since 2002. Despite that, 2020 sure was a year to remember, with the Browns finishing 11-5 and making it to the Divisional Round.

With that said, things sure had been awful for Cleveland before that. Matter of fact, you might not even believe when we tell you that the Browns haven’t won a season-opener in the past 16 seasons. It’s true, and now they’ll hope to end that streak going up against… the Chiefs.

The Cleveland Browns are known for blowing it to start the regular season

After seeing this insane stat, how could one not be enticed to bet the farm on Kansas City for Sunday’s matchup going up against Cleveland? While the Browns had a strong offseason and are eyeing a potential upset, the Chiefs enter the new campaign as Super Bowl favorites.

Patrick Mahomes is once again expected to be in the MVP conversation, while Andy Reid is probably going to have a statue built in his honor one day outside of Arrowhead. The Kansas City offense should put up an unreal amount of points week in and week out.

This is of course bad news for Cleveland, as the stadium is also going to be rocking from the opening kickoff. The fans in the stands will hope to rattle Baker Mayfield from the second he sets foot on the gridiron.

Sorry, Cleveland supporters, but all signs are pointing to the team suffering another loss once the final whistle arrives this weekend.
