Klay Thompson played chess with Michael K. Williams in classic commercial

An old-school commercial of Klay Thompson and Michael K. Williams has resurfaced after ‘The Wire’ star passed away earlier this week. 

Hearts all over the country remain heavy after it was announced that ‘The Wire’ actor Michael K. Williams passed away at the age of 54. Williams, who also featured in ‘Boardwalk Empire,’ was found dead at his apartment in New York City.

With people around the world sharing great memories and love for the actor, an old commercial starring Williams and Golden State Warriors star Klay Thompson has re-surfaced. It’s one that folks will surely enjoy.

As you can see in the video above, this is a classic clip. Williams and Thompson indeed are playing chess, but it’s more than that. The two open up, with Thompson even discussing how he bounces back whenever he’s down in life. Failures don’t bring Thompson down, they push him to get better.

The news of Williams’ death really has rocked the acting community. According to the New York Post, Williams passed away on what’s believed to be a heroin overdose. Per the Post’s sources, Williams was found face down in his Williamsburg (Brooklyn) apartment. The Post is also reporting that heroin was found in the kitchen on a table.

Police arrived to the scene at around 2 p.m. and Williams was announced dead shortly after that. The Cops were called after a family member found Williams laying on the ground unresponsive and ‘cold.’ It goes without saying, but this is an incredibly sad story. Only more old memories – like the video with Thompson – are sure to make their way to social media the rest of the week in Williams’ honor.
