Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster had the perfect one-word Twitter response to T.J. Watt’s massive contract with the team.

In anticipation of Ben Roethlisberger’s expected retirement after the 2021 season, the Pittsburgh Steelers are making sure they resign all their star players — and the players are in full support of their teammates getting paid.

While JuJu Smith-Schuster turned down wealthier contracts to wear black and yellow for another season, it seems that linebacker is finally getting his due: the Steelers are now making Watt the highest-paid defensive end in football.

Defining his own identity with the Watt family name, T.J. Watt finished last season as the NFL’s sack leader with 15 sacks and a 91.6 grade from PFF. Valued amongst his peers, the leading NFL linebacker also ranked No. 9 in the 2021 NFL 100 list — a 16-spot jump from his No. 25 ranking in 2020.

Even though Smith-Schuster felt disrespected by his own one-year, $8 million deal, he had a supportive one-word response to Watt’s news that embodies a true team mentality.

Although the Steelers wideout believes he is receiving less than he is worth, he is aware of the effect COVID has had on the salary cap and thereby his contract in the 2021 offseason. Ultimately, he turned down more lucrative offers to return to the team he’s called home since being drafted there in 2017.

Even if Smith-Schuster’s TikTok choreography had Steelers fans concerned about his dedication, his return to the squad and support of fellow teammates indicates that he is staying in Pittsburgh to prove that he is worth his own record-breaking deal.
