10 QB sleepers to target for fantasy football 2021 Week 1

Jalen Hurts vs. Atlanta Falcons

This offseason, the Philadelphia Eagles decided to trade away Carson Wentz, sending him to the Indianapolis Colts for some draft picks, and going with Jalen Hurts as their starting quarterback. While they took a while to actually name Hurts the starter, it was a foregone conclusion all along, and he will make his first regular season-opening start against Atlanta on Sunday.

The Falcons are an interesting team heading into this season, as they are a few years removed from being in the Super Bowl, but have made wholesale changes since. Against the Eagles, their defense could struggle to stop the likes of Hurts, as he has the ability to hurt them on the ground, and through the air.

Philadelphia has an excellent rookie wide receiver in DeVonta Smith, who is fresh off winning the Heisman Trophy, and actually played with Hurts at Alabama. Those two are going to have some fun against this Falcons secondary in Week 1, leading to a possibly huge fantasy day for both players when all is said and done.

Kirk Cousins vs. Cincinnati Bengals

The Minnesota Vikings are an interesting team heading into this season, as some feel they could end up in the playoffs, while others feel they will take a step backward. One thing is for sure, in their first game of the season, they should have some easy sledding, as they take on the Cincinnati Bengals, who could be the worst team in the AFC North this season.

Their quarterback, Kirk Cousins, tends to go off against lesser teams, and on Sunday, he could be in for a big day against a porous Bengals defense. He has some incredible targets to throw to, including Adam Thielen and Justin Jefferson, and I do not believe that both players can be kept under wraps in this one.

Overall, Cousins is a guy who could lead the NFL in passing yards in Week 1, and he is certain to find the end zone at least two times through the air. He may not be listed as your starter this Sunday, especially in one-quarterback leagues, but he is someone to take a long look at as you set your lineups this weekend.
