10 QB sleepers to target for fantasy football 2021 Week 1

Jimmy Garoppolo vs. Detroit Lions

It has been an interesting summer for the San Francisco 49ers, who drafted Trey Lance back in April in the first round and then had a quarterback battle through the preseason. In fact, at some points, the 49ers were trotting out both quarterbacks in preseason games early on, a sign that maybe there was more to this battle than meets the eye.

In the end, Jimmy Garoppolo was named the starting quarterback, and he will kick off his 2021 NFL season by playing against the Detroit Lions. It is no big secret that the Lions do not have much in terms of talent on either side of the ball, which could make for a banner day for Jimmy G and this 49ers offense.

Garoppolo has never been one to put up major statistics, but this game is going to be different, as George Kittle is coming back from injury. The 49ers are slated to be one of the better teams in the NFC this season, and playing against a lesser team in the Lions, expect Kyle Shanahan to dial up a good game plan for Jimmy G and company.

Ryan Tannehill vs. Arizona Cardinals

When the Arizona Cardinals and Tennessee Titans battle it out on Sunday, you can expect that there are going to be a lot of points scored. In fact, you could roll with either starting quarterback, Ryan Tannehill for the Titans, or Kyler Murray for the Cardinals in a game that is going to be one of the more offensive-heavy in the Week 1 schedule.

The reason we are going with Tannehill is the fact that the Cardinals have a weaker secondary, and that should lead to him having a monster game on Sunday. Also, the Titans brought in Julio Jones to team with A.J. Brown in the passing game, and that is almost unfair at this point.

We are aware that Derrick Henry is going to get his touches, and while they could go straight to the run early and often, Tannehill is going to get his yards. Jones is going to want to put on a show in his first game with the Titans, and hopefully, he can find the end zone more than he did with the Atlanta Falcons the last few seasons.
