10 QB sleepers to target for fantasy football 2021 Week 1

Jameis Winston vs. Green Bay Packers

The Green Bay Packers and New Orleans Saints is going to be an exciting matchup in Week 1, as the Saints will be moving on from Drew Brees at the starting quarterback job. This summer, Jameis Winston beat out Taysom Hill for the QB1 spot in New Orleans, and while it may be hard to replace a legend, I believe that Winston is loaded with pure talent.

Teaming a player with his athletic ability to play the position with Sean Payton could spell trouble for the rest of the NFC, and he is certainly someone to keep an eye on in Week 1. We have been seeing Brees put up monster numbers for the Saints, and in Winston, they have a player with more arm talent and someone who loves to take shots downfield.

Of course, that could lead to some interceptions for Winston on Sunday, but it could also mean that he is going to throw for over 400 yards, and possibly find the end zone multiple times. He will be playing for a coach that should be able to utilize his skill set, and when all is said and done, he could be one of the highest fantasy quarterbacks on the slate in Week 1.

Matthew Stafford vs. Chicago Bears

The time finally came for Matthew Stafford this offseason, as he was traded out of the lowly Detroit Lions franchise, and landed in La La Land with the Los Angeles Rams. For Stafford, who is one of the more talented quarterbacks in the league, the change is certainly going to do him good, as will quarterbacking for Sean McVay.

In fact, McVay has stated that Stafford looks even better than he thought he would, and he is inheriting an offense with a lot of talent to work with. Cooper Kupp, Van Jefferson, and Robert Woods are a solid trio at the wide receiver position, and Stafford certainly has the arm to push the ball downfield in McVay’s system.

When all is said and done this season, I believe that Stafford could be the missing piece of the puzzle for this franchise, and he could end up being the missing piece for your fantasy team on Sunday as well. The Bears and Rams will finish up the Sunday slate in a Sunday Night matchup, bringing even more intrigue to making Stafford your QB1 for the first week of games.
