10 QB sleepers to target for fantasy football 2021 Week 1

Derek Carr vs. Baltimore Ravens

As we have inched closer to the Monday Night Football matchup between the Las Vegas Raiders and Baltimore Ravens, we have seen a ton of Ravens go down due to injury. From J.K. Dobbins to Gus Edwards, the running back room has been ravaged, and both wide receivers Rashod Bateman and Miles Boykin will not play in this game either.

So while Lamar Jackson is a must-start, the quarterback he is going up against is also a must-start, especially after Ravens star cornerback Marcus Peters tore his ACL at practice on Thursday. The Ravens are severely short-handed in this one, and with the Raiders opening the Death Star up for fans on Monday night, it is going to be rocking.

Carr is a guy who has never been a huge fantasy star, but there have been times when he has put up insane numbers, and this game could be one of them. He has a nice, young wide receiver group to throw to, two pass-catching running backs, and oh yeah, a tight end that has become one of the elites in the league.

Baker Mayfield vs. Kansas City Chiefs

The Cleveland Browns and Kansas City Chiefs matchup is one of the best on the Week 1 slate, as it could end up being a preview of the AFC Championship Game. We all know what Patrick Mahomes can do, and he is a QB1 no matter if you start one, or two, but this piece is about what quarterback could be a sleeper.

Baker Mayfield is a guy with a lot to prove this season, as he is still looking for a long-term deal, and certainly has a ton of talent around him. He should have a healthy Odell Beckham Jr. in this one to go along with Jarvis Landry, as well as a host of solid targets in the passing game coming out of the backfield.

Kansas City is one of the best teams in the NFL, and the defense is going to be tough this season, as well as hungry after losing in the Super Bowl. This is a game that I feel will have a ton of points scored in it, and in the end, both quarterbacks are going to prove to be a value in fantasy this weekend.
