College Football Picks Week 2: No. 20-16

Austin Peay vs. 20 Ole Miss – Game not on board

Ole Miss made a big statement — even without Lane Kiffin on the sidelines — as they trounced Louisville on Labor Day night. This offense looks borderline unstoppable with Matt Corral at the helm and Austin Peay is going to offer little resistance. We still don’t know how improved the Rebels defense is but there’s a good reason this line isn’t on the board.

Middle Tennessee vs. 19 Virginia Tech (-20.0) – Under 54.5

If this were a high-quality opponent, I would be fading the Hokies in a big, big way. Justin Fuente has a history of performing well in season-openers but is still on the hot seat because thereafter has been quite troublesome. Against MTSU, though, Virginia Tech should be able to physically overwhelm their opponents and earn a comfy win.

Eastern Michigan vs. 18 Wisconsin (-26.0) – Under 52.0

Coming off the loss to Penn State, Wisconsin is obviously going to be hungry and Eastern Michigan doesn’t stand a chance against some of the big bodies that the Badgers are going to throw at them. Paul Chryst isn’t going to put on an air show by any means, making the under the wise play, but take Wisconsin and the points against the spread.

Kansas vs. 17 Coastal Carolina (-26.5) – Under 52.5

If you need to know where Kansas football is, they are offering a discount on Wendy’s breakfast sandwiches when the Jayhawks get a first down in this game. Coastal Carolina is going to dominate this game whole-heartedly. But their methodical option-style offense will slow the game down enough for the under to hit pretty easily.
