College Football Picks Week 2: No. 5-1

5 Texas A&M (-17.0) vs. Colorado – Over 50.0

One of the most interesting things about Texas A&M cruising to victory in Week 1 was the Aggies playing with some pace on offense, something we’ve not consistently seen since Jimbo Fisher took over. Colorado is going to have no answer for A&M on either side of the ball but the pace factor is why I lean towards the over for this game, rather than the customary under for Fisher-paced games in years past.

Western Carolina vs. 4 Oklahoma – Game not on board

Much like with Clemson and SCSU, I don’t envy Western Carolina in this game. Oklahoma got sloppy at the end of the game against Tulane and Lincoln Riley will surely look to remedy that as they take on the Catamounts. This line isn’t on the board because it should be a huge blowout and the Sooners should be expected to win by 40+ on the day.

UAB vs. 2 Georgia (-23.5) – Over 44.0

We know that Georgia’s defense is certainly among the best in college football after what they did to Clemson, so good luck to the Blazers trying to muster anything on offense in this game. But the Bulldogs offense has questions after the big Week 1 win, which is why I have J.T. Daniels and the offense coming out firing in a big way to try and make a statement and ease concerns as they check the over single-handedly.

Mercer vs. 1 Alabama – Game not on board

The only line that would even matter is if Bryce Young plays over or under 2.5 quarters in this game. My bet there is on the under because the Crimson Tide look like they aren’t missing a beat after their dominant 2020 campaign, which makes Mercer barely a pebble on their path to another National Championship.
