Jimbo Fisher gives Haynes King injury update: Will Texas A&M QB play next week?
By John Buhler
Jimbo Fisher provided an updated on Texas A&M football player Haynes King’s foot injury.
While the Texas A&M football team improved to 2-0 on the year, Gig Em Nation has to be concerned about the health of its starting quarterback Haynes King.
King had to exit Saturday’s “neutral-site game” in Denver vs. Colorado with a foot injury. He was spotted on the sidelines on crutches and in a walking boot. While Zach Calzada came in and did fine, Texas A&M only barely survived the Buffaloes, winning 10-7 at Mile High. It may be a tad too early to know what the prognosis is on King’s foot, but head coach Jimbo Fisher did speak about it.
Here is what Fisher had to say at the podium after Saturday’s win about his injured quarterback.
Texas A&M football QB Haynes King injury update: Will he play in Week 3?
While Fisher’s comments at the podium do not reveal very much at all, the good news is the Aggies can afford to rest him next week if they need to do so. Texas A&M hosts the New Mexico Lobos at Kyle Field in Week 3. Given that Texas A&M is a top-five team in the country, the Aggies can win without him. However, they are not beating the Alabama Crimson Tide in early October.
Let’s keep an eye out for an injury update on King to see how long he will be out for Texas A&M.
