5 best fantasy football pickups to make for Week 2
3. Sterling Shepard, WR, New York Giants
If you thought Kenny Golladay would be the Giants’ top wideout after signing a huge contract in free agency, you weren’t alone. Many fantasy players took Golladay while fading Sterling Shepard completely off draft boards.
It was evident that Daniel Jones had a connection with Shepard last season, catching 66 balls for 656 yards. That connection didn’t lose a step, apparently. Shepard opened up the season with a 7-113-1 performance against the Denver Broncos.
While Golladay’s lack of involvement is discouraging for Giants fans, Shepard’s breakout Week 1 should have fantasy football managers’ attention. He still seems like he’s the WR1 in New York. While Golladay isn’t going to be a non-factor every week by any means, Shepard has forced himself to be involved because of his consistency and connection with ‘Danny Dimes.’
Pick him up in your league and let him prove this production is consistent before he cracks your starting lineup.
