4. Micah Parsons will force a crucial turnover

The Cowboys’ defense isn’t good enough to shut the Chargers’ offense down completely. Dallas needs to force several turnovers if they want to find a way to even their record at 1-1.

Part of that responsibility will fall on the shoulders of the Cowboys’ secondary, but the team’s linebacking corps also has a big role to play. That’s why Dallas spent a valuable first-round pick on Parsons in the most recent NFL Draft.

Parsons’ value to the Dallas defense is as an uber-athletic linebacker who can make plays all over the field. Look for him to be heavily featured in the Cowboys’ blitzing schemes on Sunday. His speed off the edge can help cover up some of his team’s shortcomings at the defensive end position.

He’ll also see some important snaps dropping into coverage. He has a chance to change the course of this game with an interception or a strip-sack of Herbert. Dallas needs their prized rookie to show up big in Week 2 if they want to emerge victorious against Los Angeles.
