4. The Eagles’ pass-rush will not hit the opposing quarterback nine times

For the better part of a decade, the Eagles have not had a tough time getting after the quarterback. Frankly, much of that has to do with Fletcher Cox being an absolute monster in the trenches. The future Pro Football Hall of Fame is elite at blowing stuff up and allowing his teammates to make plays off his dirty work. However, the 49ers are not the Falcons this week.

Even if the 49ers offensive line is not what we would consider elite, it is not the rain-soaked wet paper bag of Atlanta. Somehow, someway, Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan was able to get off the Mercedes-Benz Stadium turf in one piece despite being hit nine times. Nine times. Even if the Eagles do bring the pressure in front of the home crowd, the 49ers do not have a Jalen Mayfield.

Could the Eagles have more than the three sacks they had on Ryan last week? Oh, most definitely, as the raucous Eagles crowd will be super loud on third down. However, it does not matter how long the game takes or who takes the snaps under center in San Francisco, their quarterback room will not see their signal-callers taken to the ground a combined nine times. It is just not happening.

If the 49ers struggle to keep their quarterbacks upright, they could fall to the Eagles on the road.
