5 bold predictions for Eagles against 49ers

The Philadelphia Eagles can get to 2-0 if they beat the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday.
In a shocking bit of events, the Philadelphia Eagles actually looked fantastic in their season opener on the road vs. the flightless Atlanta Falcons last week.
While the Dirty Birds may have their eyes set on Kayvon Thibodeaux already, the Birds are feeling pretty, pretty good about themselves. They played a complete game to help give first-time head coach Nick Sirianni his first win in the NFL. While that is good and all, the San Francisco 49ers are a major step up in competition over that sad football team Arthur Smith coaches down in Atlanta.
Here are five predictions on the Eagles’ side of things for when they take on the 49ers Sunday.

5. We will be talking about this Eagles receiving corps big time after this game
This was a pleasant surprise in the Eagles’ Week 1 road blowout victory over the Falcons. The receiving corps looked great. Yes, the Falcons have next to no idea what they are doing in the back-end of their defense, but these first-round investments in the Eagles receiving corps seem to be paying off. Of course, we are talking about wide receivers Jalen Reagor and DeVonta Smith.
Reagor had a rough rookie season out of TCU last year, but had six catches for 49 yards and a touchdown last week. That should be a sign of more good things to come out of him. As for Smith, he did win the Heisman Trophy playing for the Alabama Crimson Tide. While a lot has been made about his slight frame, the dude can absolutely ball, and the Eagles should be lucky to have him.
Ultimately, this is not really about what type of numbers Reagor and Smith put on on the stats sheet vs. the 49ers at home on Sunday. It is about them building off great first games of the season. They played with a ton of confidence last week vs. Atlanta. Look for them to do more of the same with a big step up in competition in San Francisco. Together, they have our attention.
Do not be shocked if Reagor and Smith combined for close to 15 catches for 150 yards on Sunday.
