1. Denver’s defense will dominate if Bradley Chubb is active

The Broncos entered Week 1 in a favorable matchup against a Giants offensive line that showed over the years to be an embodiment of a subway turnstile. Even though they did not light up the stat sheets with sacks, linebacker Von Miller would manage to sack quarterback Daniel Jones twice in his first game since the 2019 season.

One of the reasons why the Broncos did not feast against New York’s shaky offensive line is due to edge rusher Bradley Chubb being ruled out of the game due to an ankle injury. Even though a report from Mike Klis of 9News indicated that Chubb wanted to play in the season-opener, the Broncos chose to go with a more cautious approach and let him rest until his ankle is 100-percent.

On Wednesday, head coach Vic Fangio revealed that Chubb would be practicing on a limited basis, making his status for Week 2 worth monitoring.

If Chubb’s ankle progresses and is deemed good to go, the Jaguars should be worried. Chubb and Miller are a dominate pass rushing duo when on the field at the same time. Lawrence better hope that his offensive line holds up. If not, then he could be in for one of the worst games of his career.
