Rough news has come in for the Denver Broncos, as star pass-rusher Bradley Chubb has been ruled out with an ankle injury.

For Denver Broncos fans hoping to see star pass-rusher Bradley Chubb in action for the Week 1 tilt with the New York Giants, that unfortunately won’t be happening. There was hope that the stud would be able to suit up, but he’s officially been ruled out with an ankle injury.

According to Denver insider Mike Klis, Chubb wanted to try and push his ankle a bit and play against New York, but the Broncos staff has decided to play it safe with Chubb instead and give him an extra week to try and get himself back close to full health.

Broncos stadnout Bradley Chubb has been ruled out for Sunday’s game against New York

It goes without saying, but this is a big loss for Denver leading up to the Week 1 tilt with the Giants. Chubb is no doubt one of the best in the game in fighting through would-be blockers and putting pressure on quarterbacks.

He was ready to try and do more of the same on Sunday afternoon against Daniel Jones, but the Denver faithful are going to have to wait at least one more week to see Chubb do his thing. Last season, the 6-foot-4, 275-pounder posted 7.5 sacks in 14 games.

People are still talking about Chubb’s impressive rookie season in 2018 too, when he recorded a head-turning 12 sacks. Chubb indeed is a beast in the trenches, with no offensive lineman ever having a fun time trying to block him.

While Chubb won’t be ready to rock on Sunday, the rest of the Denver defense will look to step their collective games up. They’ll need to do so, especially with Saquon Barkley ready to make some big-time plays in this one.
