Saquon Barkley’s measly Week 1 stats agains the Denver Broncos made for a fantasy football performance that has fantasy managers in shambles before TNF.

As if New York sports fans weren’t tortured enough by the Knicks, the New York Giants seem to have their own troubling curse with running back Saquon Barkley.

Barkley isn’t anything like the Knicks in that he’s one of the NFL‘s most lethal weapons, but his struggle to stay healthy and rack up yards is something fantasy football managers are dealing with once again.

Barkley was a first-round fantasy football draft pick in 2020, a move that cost teams the season when he suffered a torn ACL in Week 3 and was out for the rest of the season.

In 2021, Barkley was again a first-round fantasy draft pick who’s virtually rostered in every fantasy league, but a surprising Denver Broncos defense stopped the fourth-year player in his tracks.

Barkley ran for 26 yards on 10 carries and one yard on one reception, totaling just 3.7 fantasy points.

Saquon Barkley fantasy owners lament over the giant Giants disappointment

While everyone agrees on how awful Barkley was in Week 1, not everyone agrees on what to do with him in Week 2 versus the Washington Football Team.

There’s a strong consensus at CBS Sports to sit Barkley, while PFF encourages fantasy managers to start him anyway in Week 2.

While fantasy expect predict different results, fantasy managers express reservation and frustration with another Barkley letdown.

According to ESPN’s Jordan Ranaan, Barkley tested his leg in the rain and “seemed to be moving well” in advance of the Thursday Night Game.
