1. Zach Wilson

The New York Jets have dealt with enough hardships already this season and that includes opening up the regular season with a 19-14 loss to Sam Darnold and the Panthers. In rookie Zach Wilson’s first NFL start, he looked like just that, a rookie. He completed 20-for-37 passes with 258 yards, two touchdowns, one interception and 17 incompletions. After all, it was his introduction to the NFL, so you can’t be too harsh.

However, on Sunday’s matchup against the New England Patriots and rookie quarterback Mac Jones, Wilson showed absolutely no signs of improvement. In fact, his performance was even worse than his Week 1 outing. Wilson went 19-of-33 for 210 yards and four interceptions. Yep, you read that right.

Wilson was doomed from the start as his first two passes of the game resulted in two interceptions and allowed for the Patriots to score and capitalize on both turnovers. Things didn’t get much better as his remaining two interceptions were also the result of poor decisions on his part.

Clearly Darnold is performing better now that he’s no longer trapped by the Jets, but something desperately needs to happen for Wilson if the No. 2 pick expects to make a name for himself as an NFL starter. After all, it wouldn’t be the first time that a QB with high expectations turned into a bust for the Jets.
