Kevon Looney, the No. 30 pick in the 2015 draft, is perhaps the player on Golden State’s roster with the highest probability of being traded. Looney signed a three-year, $14.5 million deal following his impressive performance in the 2019 playoffs.

After signing his contract, though, he played in only 20 games for the Warriors during the 2019-20 season due to injuries. His production wasn’t high that year as he averaged 3.4 points and 3.3 rebounds per game. The NBA season was cut short due to COVID-19, but the Warriors finished with a 15-50 record.

Enter James Wiseman. Golden State took Wiseman as the No. 2 pick in the 2020 draft and he earned the starting role at center for the Warriors. Although Wiseman suffered a meniscus injury after only 39 games, his production outshined Looney last season and the writing is on the wall for Kevon’s exit out of the Bay Area.

After a successful offseason, the Warriors will be able to free up some cap space by finding a new home for Looney. Will Golden State get back on track? The moves that the organization makes during the season will help to answer that question.
