7. Kenyan Drake, Las Vegas Raiders

Kenyan Drake is having one of the worst starts to a season anyone has seen from a running back ever. He’s averaging 1.5 yards per carry. At 6-foot-1, if he just stood on the line of scrimmage and fell over, he would average more yards per carry. It’s honestly pathetic how bad he’s been this season. Luckily for the Raiders, they have been getting MVP-level play from Derek Carr. That is leading to at least some respectable receiving stats for Drake.

Teams are watching tape and finding ways to stop Carr. The Miami Dolphins have a stellar secondary, and they will do all they can to stop the passing game. Josh Jacobs is still coming back from injury, so it’s likely that Drake gets the lion’s share of the carries. The Dolphins have allowed 134 yards per game on the ground, fifth-worst in the league. If Drake doesn’t do it here, the Raiders might as well cut him.

6. Damien Harris, New England Patriors

The Patriots clearly didn’t let the fumble Damien Harris committed in Week 1 hurt their trust in him for Week 2. He’s in the top five in touches on the season amongst running backs. He’s in the same top five as players like Derrick Henry and Christian McCaffrey. He hasn’t done as much with those carries, but it’s clear the Patriots are not ready to take the reigns off Mac Jones.

The Patriots are facing a Saints team coming off a terrible loss to the Carolina Panthers. The Pats secondary could do the same to Jameis Winston that they just did to Zach Wilson. This will give them good field position all game, and it could lead to the best week Harris has seen this season. The Saints have a pretty good defense, but they can only do so much.
