Kyle Shanahan gave Packers way too much time with bone-headed decision

The San Francisco 49ers are 2-1 after a last-second field goal cost them a win against the Green Bay Packers.
Week 3’s Sunday night matchup between Green Bay and San Francisco would have been a huge win for both teams. The Packers were looking to prove Week 1 doubters wrong with a silencing performance, and the 49ers needed to add a convincing win to their undefeated record.
By halftime, it looked like Green Bay was going to get away with the win pretty easily. San Francisco decided to put up a fight and rallied in the second half, outscoring the Packers 21-10 until the last forty seconds. Everything seemed to be going right for the 49ers late in the game. Until they decided to make it go wrong.
It’s almost like San Francisco got so excited at the potential of 3-0 that they forgot to actually execute it. At least that’s what head coach Kyle Shanahan’s horrible clock management points to.
The San Francisco 49ers terrible clock management gave Green Bay just what they needed to win
The 49ers did pull off the touchdown to make it 28-27. But they left some question marks on the field.
Why run a play with 12 seconds left on the play clock when you are playing against Aaron Rodgers?
Unsurprisingly, those extra seconds proved fatal for San Francisco. Rodgers connected with DaVante Adams with 12 seconds on the clock to give Mason Crosby the chance to kick what would end up being the game-winner.
In the 12 seconds that the 49ers could have just let tick down, they instead had to watch as the Packers used them to rip away their 3-0 record.
