8. Seattle Seahawks at San Francisco 49ers

The Seahawks have not looked good defensively over their last two games, allowing at least 30 points in each. Week 4’s matchup doesn’t look great, but stay with me.

The San Francisco 49ers scored 28 points against the Green Bay Packers in Week 3. But those four touchdowns came on back-to-back drives around halftime and in the fourth quarter. 271 of their 298 total yards came on this four drives, with six drives totaling the other 27. The Packers sacked Jimmy Garoppolo four times, and turned him over twice (an interception and fumble).

The Seattle defense isn’t shutting anyone down. But the 49ers and Garoppolo are not an intimidating matchup.

7. New York Giants at New Orleans Saints

Take it for the grain of salt that it is, but the Giants held the Atlanta Falcons to 17 points in Week 3 with three sacks of Matt Ryan and a takeaway.

Week 4 against the New Orleans Saints invites a wide range of outcomes for the “football” Giants’ defense, dependent on Saints’ quarterback Jameis Winston. Winston has been efficient in two of three games this season, with two interceptions the game in-between. One of his touchdown passes in Week 3 was a throw he was lucky to make, let alone complete, suggesting the Tampa version of him is not quite gone.

The Giants’ defense is at least unlikely to get torched on Sunday. Winston may provide some opportunities for takeaways and sacks too.
