2. Top fantasy football pickups for Week 5 – Bears WR Darnell Mooney

Week 4 was a much better showing for Justin Fields, who delivered a solid performance for the Chicago Bears after a disastrous Week 3. Fields completed 11 of 17 passes for 209 yards as the Bears picked up a 24-14 win over Detroit but his favorite target was Darnell Mooney.

The second receiver on the depth chart behind Allen Robinson, Mooney was targeted seven times by Fields and he converted five of those targets into receptions. Fields did good work with his catches, racking up 125 yards as he easily dominated the receiving workload for Chicago.

This is the third time in four games that Mooney has received at least seven targets and the fact that he had an instant connection with Fields is a positive sign for Mooney’s fantasy prospects. There is no question that Robinson will be more involved going forward but Mooney’s strong performance in Week 4 has earned him a more significant role going forward.

Mooney is rostered in 38 percent of Yahoo leagues and that percentage should rise after this week. A matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 5 offers some more scoring potential for Mooney as a flex option in your fantasy lineup.
