College football expert picks Week 6: Picks against the spread for every Top 25 game
College football expert picks for Week 6: No. 10-6
Boise State at 10 BYU (-5.5) – Under 57.0
Quarterback injuries are threatening to derail what has been an impressive start to the season for BYU as they could be down to their third-stringer in this game, though Jaren Hall could play. In any case, I still think the Cougars are just superior, especially in Provo. As such, I see limited offense but a solid cover for the home team.
9 Michigan (-3.5) at Nebraska – Under 51.0
Nebraska is much better than you probably think they are. Their 3-3 record is misleading as they came out flat in Week 0 to lose to Illinois but then the other two defeats came in close games with Michigan State and Oklahoma, two teams in the top 15. Michigan, however, isn’t getting the respect they deserve either. Not only is their offense capable of being methodical and moving the ball well but their defense is elite. They’ll stifle the Huskers and take this one pretty handily.
Maryland (+20.5) at 7 Ohio State – Over 71.0
This is too many points for Ohio State. Yes, the Buckeyes have been dominant over the past two weeks but a defense everyone was worried about faced two of the worst offenses in FBS. That doesn’t change my opinion that a team such as Maryland can come in and get them into a relatively close shootout. The Terps won’t have defensive answers either but this will be within three touchdowns, without a doubt.
