As it turns out, Jared Goff and the Detroit Lions are not the least bit good

What difference is it going to make? The Detroit Lions are going nowhere fast, and Jared Goff is not the answer for them under center long-term. Fate would have it, this projects as a terrible year to be in need of drafting a franchise quarterback. While Goff has gone an unspectacular 0-5 in Lions uniform since being traded over from the Los Angeles Rams, is it David Blough time already?

Sunday was a very winnable game for the Lions, but Goff could not hold his own vs. Kirk Cousins of the Minnesota Vikings. He took four sacks, averaged only 5.8 yards attempt and barely eclipsed 200 yards passing. Goff only quarterbacked the Lions into the end zone once, thanks to a terrible Vikings fumble. He had two costly turnovers on the afternoon, and the Lions still remain winless.

Are the Lions lacking talent? Yes, but they are not totally devoid of it. Goff was taken No. 1 overall out of Cal by the Rams for a reason. This may be a new system and coaching staff, but they are counting on him being better than this. Again, this was a game the Lions had ample opportunities to win, and they blew it. Goff may not get benched here, but his days as a starter are numbered.

The Lions’ trade with the Rams is looking worse and worse by the day thanks to Goff’s bad play.
