QB. Scouting Report. Denver Broncos. Teddy Bridgewater. 1. player. 45. Pick Analysis

Teddy Bridgewater’s limited ceiling will inevitably hold the Denver Broncos back

For a team that got off to a 3-0 start, the Denver Broncos have dropped two games in a row. While we should have known better because their three wins were over the New York Giants, the Jacksonville Jaguars and the New York Jets, we have to admit Teddy Bridgewater may not be the answer for them at quarterback going forward. He seems to have hit his definite ceiling already.

Though Bridgewater was not utterly atrocious, he was outplayed by Ben Roethlisberger of the Pittsburgh Steelers who is aging like milk before our very eyes. If the Broncos wanted to be taken seriously as a playoff contender, they needed to find a way to beat a Steelers team that was really struggling. While Drew Lock could have been a hot mess, maybe his upside is needed right now?

Even if Bridgewater’s stat line was not horrendous (24-of-38 passes for 288 yards, two touchdowns and an interception), it is not the type of performance head coach Vic Fangio can realistically anchor himself to if he wants to keep his job beyond this season. Pressure is starting to mount in Denver. We could potentially see a change at the quarterback position before too long.

Bridgewater’s play of late has re-opened the door for Lock to maybe get a second stab at the job.
