3. Top fantasy football pickups for Week 6 – Detroit Lions WR Amon-Ra St. Brown

We spotlighted Amon-Ra St. Brown in this space prior to Week 1 so it was disappointing to see him get off to a slow start this season. St. Brown has been coming on over the past few weeks, including a solid effort in Detroit’s 19-17 loss to the Minnesota Vikings.

Jared Goff looked St. Brown’s way eight times in Week 5 and he secured seven of those targets, racking up 65 yards in the process. This is the second straight week that St. Brown has secured 8 targets from Goff and he has done solid work with them as a possession receiver.

Two factors work in St. Brown’s favor with the Lions, a bad team that will be playing catchup often. St. Brown can accumulate plenty of garbage time stats, which will count all the same in your point totals as people scoring in the first quarter, and he has little competition for targets in Detroit outside of tight end T.J. Hockenson.

Rostered in just three percent of Yahoo leagues, St. Brown is a good add in deep leagues as a WR4. St. Brown hasn’t earned weekly start status yet but his consistent looks from Goff offer him a solid floor in PPR leagues.
