The Houston Astros get the last laugh after Chicago White Sox reliever Ryan Tepera accused them of cheating at home games earlier in their best-of-five ALDS series.

Of course, Chicago White Sox relief pitcher Ryan Tepera’s comments about the Houston Astros possibly cheating at home games again came back to haunt him and his team.

Tepera pointed out the stark contrast of swings and misses in Game 3 at Guaranteed Rate Field than what he saw out of the Astros’ lineup in Games 1 and 2 at Minute Maid Park. This was a prime example of bulletin-board material for Houston to feast over for an extra day. The Astros came out and whooped the White Sox in Game 4 to advance to the 2021 ALCS Tuesday afternoon.

With the White Sox already trailing big, Tepera gave up an earned run to the Astros in 1.2 innings worth of work in Game 4.

Even if the Astros were up to some fishy stuff in Houston, Chicago needed to hold serve in both home games to force a Game 5 down 0-2 in the best-of-five series. While they got it done in Game 3, it was a bad effort and even worse execution across the board for the South Siders in Game 4. Manager Tony La Russa deserves some blame, but the whole team underperformed.

Tepera once again proves you should never even remotely think about poking the bear.
