Projected college football rankings after Cincinnati, Michigan State, Oklahoma State score big wins
By John Buhler
With a pair of big wins on early Saturday afternoon, we could see Michigan State and Oklahoma State climb up in the next AP Top 25 poll.
The Michigan State Spartans and the Oklahoma State Cowboys got it down in the early window on Saturday to stay undefeated heading into Week 8.
No. 10 Michigan State went into Bloomington and won a hard-fought battle over the rival Indiana Hoosiers, 20-15. The Spartans are 7-0 heading into massive Week 8 game vs. in-state rival Michigan. No. 12 Oklahoma State played all four quarters to beat No. 25 Texas at Austin, 32-24. As long as the Pokes keep winning, expect for an all-timer to take place vs. Oklahoma in Bedlam.
Here is what the top 10 could look like after the Spartans and Cowboys got their impressive wins.
Projected college football rankings after Michigan State, Oklahoma State wins
- Georgia Bulldogs
- Iowa Hawkeyes
- Cincinnati Bearcats
- Alabama Crimson Tide
- Oklahoma Sooners
- Ohio State Buckeyes
- Penn State Nittany Lions
- Michigan Wolverines
- Michigan State Spartans
- Oregon Ducks
Frankly, it is going to take a few teams ahead of them to lose for Michigan State to move up much, if at all, or for Oklahoma State to even crack the top 10. For the sake of simplicity, let’s just say they both move up a spot. Michigan State may have done enough to leapfrog the Oregon Ducks for the No. 9 spot. As for the Pokes, they move up to No. 11 after Kentucky loses to Georgia.
If we want any other movement, maybe Alabama and Oklahoma swap spots in the top five?
