Buffalo Bills. Brian Daboll. Offensive Coordinator. 2. player. 16. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis

Brian Daboll will be the top head-coaching candidate in the next offseason cycle

Of any coordinator who will be a first-time head coach next year, the smart money would be on Buffalo Bills offensive coordinator Brian Daboll. Since leaving Tuscaloosa to be on Sean McDermott’s staff, Daboll has emerged as one of the best offensive minds in the game. He has played an integral part in something the Broncos are awful at: Developing their quarterbacks.

Daboll had been interviewed by several teams last cycle, but opted to stay in Orchard Park. That was a big game, but it looks like one that will pay off for him. He will be able to pick any head-coaching spot of his choosing this winter. While Denver has been a potential landing spot for him for some time, quarterbacking questions will be at the forefront entering the 2022 NFL Draft.

Though the Broncos could very well be the job he has his eyes on, what happens when the Chicago Bears fire Matt Nagy? While Chicago has not historically been kind to its head coaches, the Bears have not had a quarterback like Justin Fields since Sid Luckman. Maybe he wants to align himself with a proven veteran in Derek Carr in Las Vegas? Daboll will have several options.

Denver could potentially land Daboll as Fangio’s long-term successor, but there are no guarantees.
