Cowboys: Dak Prescott robbed of rushing touchdown

Prescott had one hell of a week statistically and in the win column, as he threw for 445 yards and three touchdowns in an overtime win over the New England Patriots. He could’ve had a fourth touchdown (this one on the ground), however, had the officials not blindly robbed him of one despite having instant replay at their disposal.

To be fair, the call on the field probably has to stick in this case. Sadly for Cowboys fans and Prescott fantasy football owners, the officials deemed Dak down at the one. The replay appears to show that Prescott’s knee did not touch the ground until he lunged into the end zone, but that is not inconclusive. One cannot just assume forward momentum without the evidence to back it up.

As Machota points out, eventually the NFL is likely to implement a computer chip system to determine when the ball crosses the goal-line, but for now we’ll have to do with the naked eye.
