2. NFL teams that should be on upset alert in Week 7 – San Francisco 49ers

Week 6 was a much-needed bye for the San Francisco 49ers, who have been dealing with their own set of injury issues. Playing without quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo in Week 6, the 49ers lost to the Cardinals to fall to 2-3 on the season.

While there is a good chance Garoppolo can return to the lineup on Sunday the 49ers will still be down key players like George Kittle, who is on injured reserve. The 49ers are still favored on Sunday night against the Indianapolis Colts, with FanDuel establishing them as 3.5 point favorites, but the Colts are a far more dangerous opponent than their 2-4 record indicates.

Indianapolis demolished the Houston Texans on Sunday to pick up their second win of the season, an impressive turnaround after a gut-wrenching loss to the Baltimore Ravens in Week 5. The forgotten part about that loss was that the Colts dominated the game for three quarters before collapsing late, allowing Lamar Jackson to rally the Ravens to victory.

Frank Reich’s team has historically been a slow starter but last Sunday’s beatdown of the Texans may be a sign that the light has turned on for the Colts. That is a dangerous spot for the 49ers, who also need this victory to stay afloat in the brutally competitive NFC West.
