20. Pitt Panthers

If Pitt didn’t lose to Western Michigan earlier in the season, there would be a much different conversation surrounding this program. However, they might be the best team in the ACC depending on where you stand on Wake Forest.

Anyone who was curious about how the Panthers offense, led by potential Heisman frontrunner Kenny Pickett, would hold up against Clemson got their answer. Not only did the quarterback ball out but Pitt’s defense stepped up with a monster performance that saw D.J. Uiagalelei get benched after an awful interception that Pat Narduzzi’s team returned for a touchdown.

19. Baylor Bears

After a huge win over BYU, Baylor spent the week on the bye. The Bears will rest up as they get ready for some critical games in the Big 12. Up next is a home contest against the Longhorns in Waco. If the Bears can keep taking care of their business, they can find their way into the Big-12 title game.

Right now, the Bears should stand pat at 20th in the rankings by virtue of being off. Don’t expect much movement with the Bears one way or the other. Next week, they can start their push toward the Top 15.
