College football rankings 2021: Week 9 AP Top 25 projections after Ohio State, Alabama win; Oklahoma State, Penn State lose

18. Auburn Tigers

Much like Baylor, there shouldn’t be much expectation in regards to Auburn’s ranking this week. The Tigers were on the bye and likely aren’t going that far in either direction based on the week’s action.

Auburn does have two massive games on the schedule next that can either knock them out of the rankings completely or vault them way up. First up is a home contest against the Ole Miss Rebels and then a road trip against Texas A&M.

17. Coastal Carolina Chanticleers

The undefeated season is over Coastal Carolina. They lost earlier in the week for Appalachian State. If there was a game on the schedule Coastal Carolina was going to drop it was the game to App State.

It was a close 30-27 loss so the Chanticleers shouldn’t fall too far. With no real great teams behind them, a few spots seems appropriate here. The rest of the remaining schedule is easy so they should roll the rest of the way.
