5. Mike Davis, Atlanta Falcons

The Atlanta Falcons are really trying to make this two-running back thing work. Cordarrelle Patterson was a surprise contributor, at least on this level, and in most weeks it’s turned Mike Davis into a pretty useless fantasy option. That changed in the week before the bye. He scored a touchdown and got 53 yards on 13 carries. He did fumble, which is extremely unfortunate, but he showed he can contribute to a fantasy lineup.

This week, the Falcons are taking on a Miami Dolphins team that is trying to swim away from the drain, but it’s not working. They just lost to the Jacksonville Jaguars, and they’ve allowed north of 29 points per game to fantasy running backs. Patterson is going to get his points, but Davis is going to do well too.

4. AJ Dillon, Green Bay Packers

Aaron Jones is still one of the best fantasy options at running back in the NFL, but the Green Bay Packers are starting to use AJ Dillon more. Over the past three weeks, his touches have been 16, 12, and 11. This, after he was getting single-digit touches in the first three weeks. The Packers are trying to use all the pieces of their offense as they look to be a true title contender again.

The Packers are taking on the Washington Football Team this week. They are just dreadful on defense. The passing defense gets all the bad headlines, but the rushing defense isn’t too great either. Dillon and Jones will both be in scoring position multiple times, and they will look to destroy opposing teams for the rest of the season.
