3 trades Seahawks need to make to get back in playoff picture

2. Tyrod Taylor for 2022 fifth-round pick
Russell Wilson is currently on the IR with an injured right middle finger. There are reports that he may be able to return on November 14th following the Seahawks’ bye week.
If Wilson does indeed return on November 14th, Geno Smith will only have to start one more game, which is this Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Nevertheless, trading for Tyrod Taylor would be a smart move for the team. Taylor was excellent for the Houston Texans in his two starts this season. In fact, he was leading the NFL in total QBR after Week 2.
If the Seahawks make the deal immediately, Taylor could start this Sunday against the Jaguars, who he already defeated in Week 1.
Once Wilson returns, Taylor will be one of the best backup quarterbacks in the league. The Seahawks defense has continued to struggle, and if Wilson misses any additional time, Taylor could keep the team alive in the playoff race.
Trading Taylor at the deadline makes sense for the Texans. Taylor is on a one-year contract. The Texans are far outside of the playoff race at 1-6, so they may want to continue to develop rookie quarterback Davis Mills.
