Fantasy Football: 3 players to add in wake of Derrick Henry’s injury
McNichols is the only other Titans running back besides Henry to have a carry this season, and he has just seven (zero in the last three games). But he has been a productive pass catcher when given an opportunity, and even as the Titans workout out Adrian Peterson that role won’t be taken from him if the future Hall of Famer is signed.
McNichols has 21 catches for 203 yards and a touchdown this season, however skewed by eight receptions for 74 yards (on 12 targets) against the New York Jets in Week 4.
It’s worth wondering if the Titans will quickly look to the trade market before Tuesday’s deadline to try to acquire a running back. Depending on who that might be, though a quick mental glance says the market wouldn’t bear much this side of someone like Marlon Mack or Ronald Jones, McNichols’ fantasy stock would be impacted. So here on Monday and as Week 9 waivers launch on Tuesday, be aware of that trade possibility, along with the possibility Peterson (or someone of his ilk) is signed.
All of the potential concerns aside, McNichols is going to be a hot fantasy waiver wire add this week in the wake of Henry’s injury. At minimum, for those who are left to replace Henry, it’s worth checking to make sure the Henry manager in your league doesn’t have McNichols rostered as the handcuff.
