New Orleans Saints

Logistically speaking, the New Orleans Saints might make the most sense right now. The Saints, along with the rest of the NFL, found out yesterday that they would be without Michael Thomas for the rest of the season. Thomas had already been on the PUP list to start the season after offseason ankle surgery, but had a setback in his rehabilitation process and won’t see the field this season.

That’s a huge blow for a Saints team with an already thin wide receiver room and they’ll now also miss Jameis Winston for the rest of the season. That means we’ll see either Taysom Hill, who is recovering from a concussion, or Trevor Siemian at quarterback. Whoever is under center does have a dynamic run-game, featuring Alvin Kamara and Mark Ingram, to lean on. The former is also one of the best receiving backs in the NFL.

If the Saints have designs on making the postseason, they might need a little more help on the outside. Enter Beckham. He might be in the midst of the worst season of his career, but there’s still an uber-talented receiver in there somewhere. Put him in a Sean Payton offense – who would be the best offensively-minded coach he’s ever had – and it’s likely that OBJ would flourish. Or at least give a better account of himself.
