College football hot seat: Dan Mullen, Scott Frost and the coaches that should be fired after Week 10

2. Scott Frost – Nebraska
Yet again, the Nebraska Cornhuskers came up short. Yet again, it’s time to start pondering how much longer Nebraska head coach Scott Frost will still have that title.
Kudos to Frost and the Huskers, Nebraska looked like a solid team against one of the best in the country, but the Huskers have done this routine a few times now and they’ve still yet to go out and get some much-needed wins.
Combine that with the fact that Nebraska has lost some ugly games against less-than-stellar competition and it’s hard to give Frost the benefit of the doubt here. The Huskers simply haven’t been able to get wins and it doesn’t seem to matter who they play.
Frost’s massive buyout makes the whole concept of canning him a difficult one. Who knows if the Huskers will actually be able to part with him this season? If they tried, they’d be giving him over $20 million to not coach in Lincoln. Throwing that much cash around to get rid of a coach could make it pretty difficult to afford a quality successor for Frost.
That’s not a situation that Nebraska really wants to be in.
As the Huskers fell to 3-7 on the season with the loss to Ohio State, Nebraska has pretty much lost the opportunity to go to a bowl game this year (unless something bizarre happens) as it has lost four-straight games this year. Frost is now 15-27 in Lincoln.
None of that is good.
