Week 9 has come and gone and there are four college football teams who should consider the futures of their head coaches.

Another week of college football, another week of disappointment for many fanbases. There are plenty of teams who have the right to be excited about how they’re doing right now, but there are also many who are underachieving and should be frustrated.

That leads to college football coaches ending up on the hot seat. Right or wrong, many college football programs will put a ton of pressure on coaches and will try to move on to the newest, most interesting name, if given the opportunity.

A lot of coaches will get overpaid to not coach. A lot of coaches will get overpaid to start coaching somewhere new. College football has a pretty weird relationship with how it moves on from coaches.

So, who are the four college football coaches who should be on the hot seat after this week?

4. Seth Littrell – North Texas

Let’s start with Seth Littrell of the North Texas Mean Green.

The Mean Green don’t exactly aspire to be Alabama. Expectations in Denton aren’t absurd. But, despite appearing as a promising coaching candidate who was expected to eventually move on to bigger and better jobs, Littrell stuck around and things have gone south since then.

North Texas was able to win this week, but the Mean Green needed overtime to beat the Rice Owls by a score of 30-24. To make this situation somehow even more miserable, this win is just North Texas’ second victory of the season.

Littrell is a brilliant offensive mind who has proven he can elevate the North Texas football program. But he hasn’t sustained the success in recent seasons.

That’s a problem.

If the Mean Green can somehow make it to bowl eligibility, maybe this season will be looked at through a different lens. But right now, North Texas might want to start looking around at promising offensive coordinators.
