1. Mike Zimmer – Minnesota Vikings

The Minnesota Vikings and Mike Zimmer have had more than enough opportunities to go out and prove that they should be good. Somehow, the Vikings keep finding new and impressive ways to disappoint themselves and their fans.

The Vikings had the Baltimore Ravens right where they wanted them, leading one of the NFL’s best teams 24-10 early on in the third quarter. And yet, the Ravens got right back into the game, scoring 14 unanswered to tie things up and then eventually win 34-31 in overtime.

With the loss, the Vikings fell to 3-5 and Zimmer’s record now sits at 67-52. The Vikings were once a fairly solid team under Zimmer’s direction, but things have gone south as of late. Minnesota failed to make the playoffs in 2020 thanks to a disappointing 7-9 record. Unless a miracle happens, the Vikings won’t make it back to the playoffs this season.

Adding to that, the Vikings haven’t ever been able to consistently sustain success with Zimmer as their head coach. Minnesota has only made it to the playoffs three times since 2014.

There’s a strong argument to be made that it’s time to move on.
